"Long ago, there was a curse brought upon earth and its kin. Selected newborns had a mutation in their eyes; the windows of their very souls, plagued with only the sight of the color red. Their eyes would open and all would be colorless, until they stumble upon a rose, and once that rose pricked their finger, blood arose. What a beautiful glow those children had in that moment. Finally seeing the bright red leaking from their fingers, a first color to last a life time. Bloodshed was their future, their obsession, their bliss, the pinnacle of their despair. "
